Department of Communication Engineering and Technology celebrates 20 years of its establishment

DEAR COLLEAGUES

With a great pleasure and a sense of duly fulfilled teaching and scientific duty that I congratulate you on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Communication Engineering and Technology.
All of us are graduates of this University and on the occasion of the past 20 years, we report that hundreds of students have been trained and graduated in the specialty. Historically, students have been trained in Communication Engineering and Technology even before the official opening of the specialty of the same name. Numerous teaching aids have been published to date. Research projects funded by European programmes, the Scientific Research Fund of the Ministry of Education and the Technical University - Gabrovo have been developed, and the scientific output of the academic staff has been presented and published in national and foreign journals, at scientific conferences, symposia and other forums. The composition of the Department has changed over the past 20 years, but the traditions and academic spirit of the Technical University of Gabrovo have been preserved.
The successes achieved by the team have turned the Department into a well-known educational and scientific unit not only within the University, the city, the region, but also among the partners of the Technical University - Gabrovo outside the borders of the country.
Today is a day of celebration for all members of the Department of Communication Engineering and Technology as well as for its alumni. Appreciating the role of each one of us in the responsible process of education, we hope that we have motivated in young people confidence, aspiration to the new, to lifelong learning and have pointed them in the right direction in the world of one of the most sought after and most dynamically developing specialties - the specialty "Communication Technologies and Cyber Security".

To all of you - current students and grads, faculty and staff, I wish you good health and future success!

Prof. Dr. Eng. Stanimir Mihailov SADINOV

A brief history

Since 1992/93 academic year at the Technical University - Gabrovo began studies in the specialization "Communication Engineering and Technology". By the decision of the Academic Council of 23.02.1999 (Order No. 38/26.02.1999) the eponymous Department of Communication Engineering and Technology was founded. Since 1999, the eponymous specialty of Communication Engineering and Technology (CET) has been opened.
As a result of the dynamically developing communications and the interest shown by the business community and prospective students, the Department of CTT started training in Mobile and Satellite Communications (MSC) in the academic year 2012/2013. It is one of the dynamically developing and gives graduates a chance to successfully realize themselves in this industry. The learning process is provided with specialized laboratories equipped with modern electronic measuring, communication and computer equipment for practical classes and scientific research.
From the academic year 2016/2017, the Department of CET is again accepting students in full-time and part-time study in the specialty of Communication Engineering and Technology (CET) with updated and modernized curricula.
